02 / MORE ROOM FOR YOUR PLANS

One stump.
Or a bigger plan.

From a single trouble spot to a fresh start for your property, let’s talk about what you need.

Tell us about your project
01

Full-service stump grinding

Get the stump out of the way and your space back. We’ll talk through the grinding, cleanup, and finish your project needs.

02

Land clearing

Make room for your next project. Send us a wide view of the area you want cleared and a little about your plans.

03

Grading work

Shape and level the ground for a more usable property. Show us the area and tell us what you’d like to change.

03 / YOUR QUOTE STARTS WITH A TEXT

A few photos. A little detail.
That’s it.

Text your photos, your Connecticut town, and a short description to Alex.
These three views help us understand the job.

01Diagram: step back to frame the entire stump, roots and surrounding yard

Show the whole stump.

Take a wide photo with the stump, visible roots, and the area around it. A second angle helps, too.

02Diagram: measure across the widest outside edges of the stump's root flare at ground level

Measure the widest part.

If you can, place a tape across the widest part at ground level, including the root flare. Send the diameter in inches.

03Diagram: photograph the gate and the route through the yard to the stump

Show us the way in.

Photograph the access route. Include gates, narrow spots, slopes, or nearby obstacles we should know about.

MORE THAN ONE STUMP?

Group similar sizes together.

A quick count by size makes it easy:

Approximate measurements are helpful. No tape handy? Send the photos and what you know.

A TEXT LIKE THIS WORKS

“Hi Alex! I’m in [town]. I have 5 stumps about 24 inches across and 2 about 12 inches. Here are photos of the stumps and the access. I’d like [a short description of the work].”

Just replace the example details with yours and attach your photos.

I served five years in the Army infantry, earned my airborne qualification, and served in Italy, Louisiana, and on one tour in Iraq.

When I left the Army in 2019, I started Black Bear Stump Grinding. Today, we’re a family-owned and operated business serving the entirety of Connecticut.

We’re licensed, insured, and proud to help our neighbors make more of their property.

A FEW GOOD QUESTIONS

Before you
send that text.

Do you serve my part of Connecticut?

Yes—we serve the entire state of Connecticut. Include your town in your text so we know where the project is.

What should I include for a quote?

A few clear photos, your town, the number of stumps, and a short description of the work. If possible, add the diameter of the widest part of each stump at ground level. For several stumps, group them by similar size. A photo of the access route helps, too.

Can I ask about cleanup or soil fill?

Absolutely. Tell Alex how you’d like the area to look afterward so grinding, cleanup, and any finishing work can be discussed as part of your quote.

Can I get a quote for land clearing or grading?

Yes. Send wide photos of the area, a description of your goal, and your town. Alex can let you know what other details are needed to assess the work.

LET’S MAKE ROOM FOR WHAT’S NEXT.

Got a stump?
Send a text.

A few photos are all it takes to get the conversation started.
